DITCD = Diggin' In The Compact Discs

It's been a hectic, couple of weeks but today I was given a window of opportunity to just kick back and zone out.  So I decided to take this time to run through albums and sound trip.  It's when I get to revisit my treasured collection that I'm able to get juiced to move forward in music.

It's been a good 2 to 3 hours now and I am nowhere near done sorting stuff out, but I thought I'd give you all an idea of what I've been keeping for years (and been attempting to update).  Take note that this is all out of my personal collection (it'd take me a whole other day to sort through Hubby's) and that this is just a portion of it too (strictly international, I'll do local albums next).  During our big move 2 years ago, all my things went into boxes and my formerly immaculate music set, went into scattered archives.  And admittedly, some albums have gotten lost (or jacked! Hmpf) over time so what I am missing from my favorite artists are only in digital form now. Sigh.

Anyway, here's a partial look at what I have arranged (for better photos, peep this link: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.276320795715933.85019.266128343401845&type=1):

Raphael Saadiq - Instant Vintage, Raphael Saadiq Live at The House of Blues, Sade - The Best of Sade, Dr. Dre - The Chronicle (I had to resort to a lot of "Best of..." albums to make up for individual albums lost)

Sunset Park, Set it Off, Brown Sugar, Bulworth (I have tons more sick, sick soundtracks)

8 Mile, Common - Electric Circus (actually one of my least fave of his albums, but the rest are just mp3s now), Amel Larrieux - Bravebird, Pitch Black - Pitch Black Law

The Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death Disc 2 (I think Disc 1 is with Hubby. Otherwise, kind of ironic that I have only Disc 1 of Pac and only Disc 2 of Biggie), D'Angelo - Voodoo, D'Angelo Brown Sugar, Tony Touch - The Piecemaker 2

The Best Man OST, Emanon - Anon & On, Unspoken Heard (Asheru & Blu Black), The Strange Fruit Project - Soul Travelin'
Oy. Must find album covers.

Hoodlum OST, Angie Stone - Mahogony, Arrested Development - Everyday People, Arrested Development Unplugged

12345...hours later.  Wow. And so begins the OCD mission to have all albums in perfect arrangement, because some case logic pages will have to make room for artists' other albums and I cannot rest with the CDs that are coverless. Also, I am doing this while simultaneously listening to albums and blogging about all of this so can anyone say "ADD"?

Hmm...so OCD + ADD = AGGH. Considering I've bitten off a lot to chew (not more than, no worries), I will definitely have to pull that "to be continued" on you guys for now. Stay tuned for more DITCD and I hope my efforts inspired you to revisit your collections or perhaps add forgotten albums to your own.  Peace!
